Professional Development Forums


Many local services and agencies have already identified that opportunities for shared dialogue, planning, networking, and access to professional development are important to assist with up-skilling and building confidence for workers in youth drug and alcohol practice. However workers are often already working at full capacity and lack either time or energy to take on this task.

In response to these needs, Dovetail is offering support to design, develop and run Professional Development Forums across regional Queensland, tailored to represent the needs of young people in the local area.

Where possible, forums should;

  • be developed in collaboration with a range of key stakeholders
  • be open to a broad and diverse range of workers from various agencies
  • showcase local knowledge, skills and speakers that capitalises on knowledge, networks and practice wisdom that already exist
  • facilitate enhanced connections between local agencies
  • enable collaborative future planning
  • address a local professional development need
