Professional Development Grants & Scholarships


 

Professional Development Grants of up to $1 000, 2 Scholarships of up to $3000 to attend National or International Conferences 

A Professional Development Grant can be used in a number of ways, for example; 

  • Conference or training fees
  • Qualification/accreditation fees
  • Obtain specialist training
  • Or any other proposed ideas submitted

  • Application Process 

    Applications for both Professional Development Grants and Scholarships are submitted to the Selection Panel which is co-ordinated by Dovetail

    The Selection Panel consists of a Dovetail Project Team member, a Dovetail Consortium member and an independent agency representative and other expertise as required. 

    Individuals, services or groups of networked agencies submit an application on the attached pro-formaApplications submitted must be endorsed by the applicants employer/managerThe Selection Panel assesses applications on a fortnightly basis and will allocate grants and scholarships based on the following:1. the merits of the response to the criteria 

    2. the equitable distribution of funds across the broad and diverse sector/individuals/geography 

    3. Dovetail funds are the most appropriate source/and or only option available. 

    4. the use of funds is in alignment with the Sector’s Vision for Young People in Queensland 

    5. Funding is allocated to successful applicants 

    6. Re-imbursement is the preferred payment option. 

    7. If the recipient however is unable to pay for the activity pending reimbursement, and there is a reasonable amount of time, it can be negotiated that invoices associated with the professional activity be submitted and payment made direct to the provider. 

    8. All bookings, payments and processing of detailed expenses associated with the activity are the responsibility of the recipient 

    9. The recipient is required to provide financial documentation (ie. Receipts, tax invoices etc.) to the Selection Panel as evidence of funds expended and for reimbursement purposes 

    10. Feedback is given to unsuccessful applicants by the Selection Panel 

    11. Recipients provide a brief article for the Dovetail E-magazine to share with the sector upon completion of the activity. 

    12. Recipients initiate other activities in their local field of practice which disseminates/shares the learnings gained through the professional development activity and report these back to
