This section is designed to showcase the amazing projects out there. Inhabiting this section for the next month is the A Guide to Coping Resource.

A Guide to Coping is a comprehensive resource for families with practical strategies for coping with drug use.

This 94 page resource is a collaborative effort between Queensland Injectors Health Network and the Family Drug Support Service, and developed in consultation with families directly affected by someone else’s drug use.

A Guide to Coping is based on a demand reduction approach, with information on how families can help a user to reduce or cease their use.

It is also based on a harm reduction philosophy, and provides useful strategies for families, even when a family member does not yet plan to make any changes to their drug use, is heavily drug-dependent, and/or injecting illicit drugs.

This resource was produced in 2007/2008 through a partnership supported by Publications officer at QuIHN, Barry Morris and Tony Trimingham, Family Drug Support Service CEO.

In addition to the digital copy below Dovetail has a limited number of physical copies to distribute to the sector. If you or your organisation would like one free of charge please Contact Us

The resource is also available from QuIHN
