TARGET AUDIENCEAll prescribers.
MODULE AIMCompletion of this module will enable practitioners to manage the challenges of having honest conversations with their patients. This module provides participants with a theoretical understanding of how to engage in challenging conversations and avert communication breakdown through implementing micro-counselling skills.
LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  • identify skills that are paramount in the practice of de-escalation
  • recognise and employ strategies to support saying no
  • identify and apply self-care measures post-honest conversations in practice
  • demonstrate knowledge and confidence in addressing the topics of dependence, tolerance and deprescribing with the patient
  • demonstrate collaborative approaches to patient care.
